The Opportunity

Join our team in Port Hedland, WA, and embrace a rewarding, full-time role as an Experienced Pharmacist. We're seeking a passionate individual who is dedicated to long-term healthcare.

You will work with various care providers, including our Aboriginal Health Service, Dialysis Unit, Aged Care Centres, Community Pharmacy, and NDIS providers. No two days are the same, with responsibilities such as:

  • Applying cultural awareness in daily interactions, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Delivering high-quality pharmacy services, including Home Medication Reviews (HMR), MedsCheck and Diabetes MedsCheck (PPA program), along with other key initiatives
  • Undertaking ongoing training to strengthen your ability to adapt services for diverse populations
  • Communicating clearly and effectively to build trust and ensure client understanding
  • Managing clinic imprest systems to support safe and reliable access to medicines
  • Leading the formulation and implementation of Medication Safety Policies
  • Conducting regular visits to Remote Area Nursing Posts to extend care into regional communities

This is a full-time role - Monday to Friday, with an optional half-day at a community pharmacy on weekends, rotating between two pharmacists.

About You

To qualify, candidates should be degree-qualified Pharmacists with general (unrestricted) AHPRA registration and possess a genuine passion and interest in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander healthcare. 

To succeed in this role, you will also have the following traits:

  • A highly adaptable problem-solver
  • Great at cultivating relationships within rural indigenous communities
  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams
  • An excellent capability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding patient care

Additionally, we require extensive experience in various pharmacy areas, along with vaccination certification and HMR/MMR accreditation. If you lack these accreditations, we provide support to help you obtain them. 

Lastly, while a background in and willingness to work in remote areas is preferred, familiarity with the supply of PBS medicines to Indigenous populations under Section 100 is an advantageous asset.

This role comes with an attractive salary circa $120,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience) PLUS super.
